What are the precautions to be taken when starting and running a screw conveyor with a shaft?

During the new start-up and operation process, there are several points to note for the shaft screw conveyor. As long as it is mechanical equipment, shaftless screw conveyors, belt conveyors, or the cars or motorcycles we usually drive, they are essentially machines and no one can work well. Therefore, on the one hand, the quality of the machine depends on the designer, and on the other hand, the quality of the machine depends on how the operator operates it. However, for operators of screw conveyors with shafts, some may have varying levels of proficiency, and even some experienced employees may inevitably encounter a series of problems. In view of this, this article will introduce the precautions to be taken when operating a shaft screw conveyor.

Working environment of spiral conveyor

In fact, screw conveyors with shafts, like belt conveyors, are limited by the working environment. If the working environment and climate of the screw conveyor change, the corrosion of the screw conveyor will further deepen. Therefore, at the beginning of designing a screw conveyor, a stable and sealed environment should be selected as much as possible, and the working conditions should be explained to the designer in a timely manner.

Pay attention to the moisture content when transporting viscous materials.

In fact, being able to handle viscous materials is one of the many advantages of axial screw conveyors, but materials often contain moisture, such as sludge from river bottoms. Although screw conveyors have significant advantages in handling materials with high moisture content compared to belt conveyors, this does not mean that screw conveyors can ignore materials with high moisture content. In fact, the higher the moisture content of the material, the easier it is to adhere to the spiral blades or the inner wall of the conveyor during transportation. As the transportation process progresses, the amount of attached materials increases, resulting in a corresponding decrease in transportation capacity.

Pay attention to the temperature, wear, and corrosion of the material.

Why should we pay attention to these issues? In fact, this question is not just about you, even experienced employees who have been working for several years have such doubts in their hearts. How can the iron lumps on the entire body of a spiral conveyor be affected by material temperature, wear and corrosion? In fact, in environments with high temperature, high wear, and high corrosion, the service life of the pipe wall and spiral shaft is greatly affected, and in severe cases, the pipe wall may even need to be replaced. This not only increases the cost of the enterprise, but also increases the time cost. If preventive measures are not taken continuously, it can cause damage to the transport aircraft, which can easily lead to material leakage and result in significant losses.

Check the tightness of the transmission chain on time.

There's really nothing to say about it, but please remember that the tightness of the transmission chain and the meshing clearance and clearance of the gears should be checked regularly and adjusted in a timely manner.

Fifth, promptly clean up residual debris

Any remaining oily materials and debris inside the chassis should be cleaned immediately.

Add lubricating oil in a timely manner

I have talked about the issue of adding lubricating oil in a timely manner many times in belt conveyors. In fact, the same applies to screw conveyors. Regularly add lubricating oil to the screw conveyor. Because if the motor lacks lubricating oil, it will affect the screw conveyor and even burn out the motor.
