Three reasons for the stopping rotation of the screw shaft of a screw conveyor

There are generally three reasons why the screw shaft of a screw conveyor stops rotating;

1. The material conveying is too large, and the material cannot pass through the intermediate support smoothly. The resistance of the material in the intermediate support is too high. Malfunctions caused by motor overload operation. At this point, the materials in the screw conveyor should be cleaned thoroughly.

2. The resistance of the middle bearing is too high, causing poor sealing. Material flowing into the bearing can cause the bearing to fail to rotate or break.

3. The reducer seat is burnt.

After the start of the reducer bearing, the temperature rises and the sound is abnormal, accompanied by the vibration of the motor and reducer. At this point, the operation should be stopped immediately and the reasons should be identified from the following aspects:

1. The surface temperature of the output shaft of the reducer is relatively high. The temperature of the input shaft is normal. This is because there is a deviation in the middle position of the screw, or the output shaft of the reducer is burned out, or the bearings at the head and end are loose. It is necessary to remove the coupling between the output shaft of the reducer and the screw and adjust it.

2. The bearing temperature on the output shaft of the reducer is normal, while the temperature on the input shaft is very high. This is because the fixing device of the motor is loose or the bearing on the output shaft of the reducer is burned out, so it is necessary to loosen the coupling between the input shaft of the reducer and the motor for adjustment.

3. High temperature at the output and input ends of the reducer. This is because the fixing bolts of the reducer are loose or the bearings at both ends of the reducer are burned out, so it is necessary to loosen the two joints of the reducer and readjust the installation.
