The main reasons for chain breakage in scraper conveyors include a combination of factors such as defects in chain material, excessive wear, abnormal load, and improper installation and maintenance.
1、 Chain material and manufacturing defects
1. Insufficient material strength: Poor quality chains have insufficient tensile strength to meet operational requirements and are prone to fracture at stress concentration points.
2. Manufacturing process defects: Poor welding, uneven heat treatment and other quality issues result in fragile chain structure.
2、 Chain wear and abnormal working conditions
1. Long term wear and corrosion:
Corrosion of mine water and friction of materials lead to a reduction in the cross-section of chain links and a decrease in tensile strength.
Uneven wear causes a difference in the distance between the double chain links, leading to partial load fracture.
2. Load impact:
The dynamic tension generated by overloading exceeds the limit that the chain can withstand;
Large foreign objects block and cause instantaneous impact loads;
Improper installation and debugging.
3. Imbalance of chain tightness:
Tightening increases the initial tension and loses the buffer margin;
Excessive looseness leads to chain jumping and tilting, resulting in impact loads;
4. Component calibration deviation:
The misalignment error of the sprocket causes local stress concentration in the chain;
The misalignment of the chute causes the scraper to get stuck.
