The main differences between screw conveyors and tubular conveyors are as follows:
Conveying capacity and distance: The conveying distance of the tubular chain conveyor is much longer than that of the screw conveyor, and it can achieve three-dimensional turning conveying. However, the conveying distance of the screw conveyor is short and it is not suitable for conveying distances over 6 meters.
Material adaptability: The tubular chain conveyor is suitable for various materials, including those with high viscosity, prone to caking, and corrosive properties. However, screw conveyors are not suitable for conveying materials that are prone to deterioration, highly viscous or prone to caking.
Energy consumption and environmental protection: The tubular chain conveyor has low energy consumption, features explosion-proof and airtight designs, and is fully enclosed for conveying without dust, meeting environmental protection requirements. The screw conveyor has a relatively high unit power consumption. During the conveying process, it is prone to material breakage and is sensitive to overloading. Uneven feeding can easily cause blockage
Cleaning and maintenance: After the material transportation of the tubular chain conveyor is completed, it can continue to operate. The cleaning device on the chain can clean the residual material by itself, making the cleaning process simple. The cleaning of screw conveyors is relatively complex.
Structure and Design: Screw conveyors can be classified into shafted and shaftless types. The blade surface types vary depending on the materials being conveyed, including solid surface type, belt surface type, and blade surface type, etc. The tubular screw conveyor is of fully enclosed design, made of seamless steel pipe, and the section heads are connected by flanges or customized connection methods
