Analysis of Wall Thickness Selection Technology for Spiral Conveyor

Spiral Conveyor; The lower part of the groove is semi-circular, and the inner diameter should be greater than the outer diameter of the spiral blade. 15-30 millimeters. The size should be appropriate. Excessive size reduces the efficiency of spiral conveying; Too small, when the bearing wears out or the shaft bends slightly, the spiral blade contacts the machine groove, causing wear or abnormal noise.

Machine slots are usually made of thin steel plates, and their thickness is determined by the diameter of the spiral and the degree of wear of the conveyed material, generally equal to the thickness of the spiral blades. For materials with small spiral diameter and low wear, take a thickness of σ=2-3mm. For conveying materials with large wear and large spiral diameter in the machine slot, take them out, σ=6--8mm。

The groove is segmented, and the number of segments is generally the same as the number of spiral segments. Weld angle steel flanges on both sides of each slot. Due to the connection and reinforcement groove, angle steel is welded on both sides of the groove to fix the cover plate. When assembling each slot, straightness and sealing performance are required.

We usually make selection references from three aspects:

1. Usage environment: When using materials with dry environment and low moisture content, materials with relatively thin pipe walls can be selected. However, for screw conveyors in harsh, humid, and high moisture environments, thicker pipe walls are used for protection.

2. Length issue: Spiral conveyors, especially those that move up and down, have thinner pipe walls for shorter lengths. If maintenance is taken care of during use, significant problems may occur. However, for screw conveyors with long conveying distances, due to the long distance and heavy weight. Customers who choose thin-walled screw conveyors are prone to problems during use.

3. Production issue: Spiral conveyor; In the case of high output and high speed, thicker pipe wall models should be selected. On the contrary, if the speed is slow, a slightly thinner pipe wall can be chosen.
