How to solve the problem of material spillage from the hopper of a bucket elevator

Apr 07, 2024

Recently, some users have found that there is a situation of material being scattered out during the feeding of the bucket elevator, and they do not know how to solve it. Today, the bucket elevator manufacturer Zhengkang Environmental Protection will explain how to solve this problem to you, hoping to be helpful to you!

Reason for the hopper of the bucket elevator spraying material outward:

1. The tension of the conveyor belt of the bucket elevator is insufficient, and the hopper twists due to its own weight; So this is actually quite easy to understand, and it is also one of the reasons why bucket elevators scatter materials. You can imagine that during the operation of the conveyor belt, after the hopper is filled with materials, it has its own weight, and combined with the weight of the materials, it will generate a downward gravity. As the gravity continues to increase, the hopper will also undergo some deformation. After the deformation reaches a certain degree, there will be situations where the material mouth is parallel or the mouth is flushed down, which will naturally lead to the scattering of materials. During the operation of the conveyor belt, the hopper will deviate and collide with the box; If the hopper collides with the box, as long as the contract is fulfilled, the material will scatter. You can imagine that the hopper is usually quite full. If there is a sudden collision with other positions during operation, due to inertia, some of the material in the hopper will definitely be scattered. These are all understandable.

2. There are inherent vibration phenomena, such as inertial vibration of rotating wheels and uneven tape joints. However, this actually accounts for a relatively small portion in the process of spreading and returning materials, because the vibration and unevenness of the fabric joints are generally rare during good material transportation. Although rare, they do exist. If there is any vibration, we should make the connections at all places more sturdy to reduce its vibration.

Solution for spraying material from the hopper of bucket elevator:

For pull-out loading, the higher the material level, the greater the resistance during material extraction. To avoid overloading and material spillage, the height of the material surface should be lower than the horizontal plane where the lower sprocket shaft is located. That is to say, when adjusting the feeding port position due to insufficient slip angle, the original designed feeding port position can be appropriately lowered, and this adjustment range is relatively large.

For inflow loading, in order to prevent materials from entering the lower part of the casing, the position of the lower edge of the feed inlet should be higher than the horizontal plane where the lower sprocket shaft is located. That is to say, when adjusting the position of the feed inlet due to insufficient slip angle, the feed inlet can be lowered appropriately, but the lowering position is limited. In theory, raising the position of the feed inlet is not restricted, and the higher the position of the feed inlet, the shorter the distance between the hopper loading section, and the lighter the load on the elevator. But when raising the position of the feed inlet, on the one hand, it is necessary to consider adding guide rails (or guide plates) inside the corresponding casing to avoid the shaking of the chain plate (or tape), and on the other hand, it is also necessary to consider the problem of material blockage when the machine trips due to faults.
