How to choose a suitable bucket elevator for oneself?
Good sales, material characteristics
1. Granularity:
If the particle size of the material is small, such as powdered materials (such as cement, flour), shallow or deep bucket elevators can be selected. Shallow bucket unloads quickly and is suitable for fine powder with good fluidity; Deep bucket can accommodate more materials and improve efficiency.
For bulk materials with larger particle sizes (such as ore and coal), a hopper with sufficient strength and capacity, such as a large capacity arc bottom hopper, should be selected to prevent the material from overflowing during the lifting process.
2. Humidity:
Damp materials such as wet sand and clay are prone to adhere to hoppers and conveyor belts. At this point, it should be considered to choose hoppers and conveyor belts with anti adhesive coatings, or to choose chain bucket elevators, whose structure is relatively suitable for handling viscous materials.
When choosing a bucket elevator, the requirement for anti adhesion of dry materials is relatively low, but if the material has characteristics such as electrostatic adsorption, special consideration should also be given.
Density and fluidity:
Materials with higher density, such as metal ores, have higher requirements for the load-bearing capacity of the hoist, requiring the selection of high-strength conveyor belts and high-power driving devices.
Materials with good fluidity flow smoothly during the unloading process, but may be difficult to control during the feeding process, so it is necessary to set up appropriate devices at the feeding port to adjust the feeding speed; Materials with poor fluidity may accumulate in the hopper, affecting unloading. At this point, a bucket elevator with a vibrating unloading device can be considered.
The second is the requirement for conveying capacity
Firstly, it is necessary to clarify one's production scale and material transportation requirements. If it is a small production workshop with low conveying requirements, a small bucket elevator can be chosen, such as equipment that can transport several cubic meters to more than ten cubic meters per hour.
For large-scale industrial production, such as cement plants, mines, etc. It is necessary to transport materials of tens or even hundreds of cubic meters per hour, so a large and high-capacity bucket elevator needs to be selected. Meanwhile, the size, spacing, and speed of the hopper and conveyor belt should be determined based on the conveying capacity.
Raise the height
Determine the vertical height that the material needs to be raised. If the lifting height is low (such as less than 10 meters), a regular bucket elevator can be selected; For situations where the lifting height is high (over 30 meters), it is necessary to consider choosing a hoist with a higher conveyor belt (such as steel wire tape) to protect the conveyor belt from breaking during the lifting process, and to consider the stability and safety of the material during high-altitude unloading.
Fourthly, the working environment
1. Temperature:
In high-temperature environments (such as clinker conveying in cement plants), it is necessary to choose conveyor belts and components that are resistant to high temperatures (based on actual reports) to prevent deformation and aging of the conveyor belts. Some special high-temperature resistant (based on actual reports) conveyor belt materials can work for long periods of time at high temperatures.
In low-temperature environments, especially in cold regions, if the material contains moisture, it may be necessary to heat or insulate the equipment to prevent the material from freezing on the hopper and conveyor belt.
Space restrictions: 2. Space restrictions
If the space for installing a bucket elevator is limited, the shape, size, and installation method of the elevator should be considered. For example, choosing elevator models with small footprint, wall mounted installation, or compact layout.
4 Operating costs and maintenance requirements
1. Energy consumption:
Different types of bucket elevators have different energy consumption. Generally speaking, a drive system and a well-designed conveyor belt tension can reduce energy consumption. When choosing, the power and energy consumption indicators of elevators with different reputations and models can be compared.
Replace vulnerable parts: 2. Replacement:
The hopper, conveyor belt, and chain are vulnerable parts of the bucket elevator. Need to choose equipment with easy replacement of vulnerable parts. For example, the hopper adopts a detachable design, and the conveyor belt is easy to disassemble and install, which can reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
Service life: V. Service life:
Excellent materials and manufacturing processes can extend the service life of bucket elevators. Check the material specifications and user reviews of the equipment to understand its service life and advantages, avoid frequent equipment replacement, and increase costs.
