What are the methods to reduce material storage for bucket elevators?

Bucket elevator is a common equipment for lifting materials. However, some customers have reported that there is a phenomenon of material storage inside the casing of the plate chain bucket elevator during operation. So how should we solve it? There are mainly the following methods.

1. Large foreign objects entering the machine base causing material storage

Solution: Install a protective net at the feed inlet of the bucket elevator to prevent accidents from occurring.

2. The tape slips, reducing the lifting capacity of the elevator and increasing the amount of material inside the machine base, resulting in material storage

Solution: Tighten the tape to prevent it from slipping.

3. The excessive reflux of materials prevents all the materials in the bucket elevator from flowing into the discharge pipe and returning to the machine base, resulting in material storage as the amount of materials in the machine base increases

Solution: Reduce the amount of backflow.

4. When there is a power outage or other sudden shutdown, the bucket elevator will reverse, and the material in the hopper will flow back into the machine base. When the machine is restarted, it is easy to cause material storage in the machine base

Solution: Clean the stored materials before restarting and then restart the machine

5. The feeding is uneven, sometimes too much and sometimes too little. When the feeding is too much, the feeding amount is greater than the lifting amount, resulting in material remaining and accumulating in the machine base, gradually increasing the amount of material in the base. The running resistance of the hopper gradually increases, and when it reaches a certain level, the tape will slip, even causing the machine to stop or the motor to burn out.

Solution: Strictly control the feeding amount and try to achieve uniform feeding. When operating, start the vehicle with no load and gradually open the feed gate. When the material surface reaches the uneven axis of the bottom wheel, the feed gate cannot be further increased.
